Knowing the enemy

I thought it would be helpful to map out some of the territory we'll be exploring on this safari. For now, I want to focus on overall themes. There is a nexis of players who affect the American scene in such a way that they do literal harm to our way of life. Their fruits are a distortion of the founding principles of the nation, their methods are honed from centuries of greed, cynicism and malevolence, and their aims are a system and a society that will ultimately destroy the good things in American life: not the good things they enjoy, but the good things that have been enjoyed by generations of other Americans who were not to the manor born.

They roam the land crossing boundaries of politics, media, business, finance, and religion. Many are labeled Republicans, but they sometimes call themselves "libertarians" or "evangelicals" or "social conservatives." And some even call themselves "non-partisan," or "objective." In recent years, they have even tried on the cape of "post-partisan."

No matter their nom du jour, they represent a cross-pollination of ideologies that are, at heart, evil, stupid, and harmful to our national interests, our real national interests, which are the well-being and prosperity of our citizens.

In posts to come, I hope to focus on these individuals to examkne the things that make them tick, their backgrounds, their methods, and why they must be stopped from doing further harm.

I realize this is all just "typing on the internet," but every little bit of light that can be shed on this nefarious cabal of maliciousness is good light.

It won't all be serious and depressing. There will be humor and music and esoterica along the way.

Hope some will join me along the journey.

Greetings

This is an attempt to comment on the issues of the day in the contemporary United States. It'll roll as it goes along, and we'll see where things go. Anyway, I don't expect anyone out there at this point, but I'm putting it up for future reference.
